Volunteer Opportunities

Wicomico County welcomes volunteer groups to assist with clean up, preservation, awareness and maintenance of our parks.

Who Can Participate

Volunteers from civic organizations, fraternal organizations, social clubs, neighborhood associations, faith-based organizations, schools or businesses are welcome to participate in Adopt A Park or Community Project programs. Participants must be 18 years or older unless supervised by an adult.

Adopt A Park

County parks may be adopted for a one year period. Interested volunteer groups must complete an application to be reviewed by the Parks division and the Recreation & Parks Commission. If approved, the group will be notified and a follow up meeting will be scheduled to discuss the adoption. Park adoption may be renewed annually with Parks division and Recreation & Parks Commission approval.

Community Project

Community projects are one-time, short-term projects as agreed upon by the volunteer group and Parks division.
